It is hard to have patience with people who say, ‘There is no death' or ‘Death doesn't matter.' There is death. And whatever is matters. And whatever happens has consequences, and it and they are irrevocable and irreversible. You might as wel say that birth doesn't matter.
In other words, fallen man is not simply an imperfect creature who needs improvement: he is a rebel who must lay down his arms.
Got to start by finding it, have we? Can't start by looking for it, I suppose?

I care more how humanity lives than how long. Progress, for me, means increasing the goodness and happiness of individual lives. For the species, as for each man, mere longevity seems to me a contemptible idea.
