Ignorance is the root of everything that stands in the way of these attainments. Ignorance binds us to suffering; therefore ignorance has to be clearly identified.
To say that all things are interdependent means that they have no inherent existence.
If there's good, strong evidence from science that such and such is the case and this is contrary to Buddhism, then we will change.
People think of animals as if they were vegetables, and that is not right. We have to change the way people think about animals. I encourage the Tibetan people and all people to move toward a vegetarian diet that doesn't cause suffering.
Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.
It is worth remembering that the time of greatest gain in terms of wisdom and inner strength is often that of greatest difficulty.
