Not the not but the not yet.
Consider the whole universe whereof thou art but a very little part, and the whole age of the world together, whereof but a short and very momentary portion is allotted unto thee, and all the fates and destinies together, of which how much is it that comes to thy part and share.
The other is that all these things, which thou seest, change immediately and will no longer be; and constantly bear in mind how many of these changes thou hast already witnessed. The universe is transformation: life is opinion.
We must make haste, then, not only because we are daily nearer to death, but also because the conception of things and the understanding of them cease first.
Everything that happens is either endurable or not. If it's endurable, then endure it. Stop complaining. If it's unendurable … then stop complaining. Your destruction will mean its end as well.
